Winter is coming babe, and with it, winter skin.
It’s a combination of dry winter air, and the skin that’s right under your nose, your face, your hands...actually, it’s covering your entire body. To help you say bye to being dry, we’ve put together our top three ‘holy grail of all winter skin-care’ tips, so here goes:
❄ Moisturise! This may seem like a no-brainer, but it's important to know how to moisturise effectively. For instance, piling on an inch-thick layer of moisturiser once or twice or even three times a week isn't going to do your skin much good. Moisturise frequently and consistently in order to effectively combat dry skin. Keeping facial moisturiser by the bed and a tube of hand cream handy in your bag is a good way to keep your moisturising frequent and consistent. If you really want to up the anti, Find an "ointment" moisturiser that's oil-based, rather than water-based. The oil base will create a protective layer on your skin that retains more moisture than other creams. (most "night creams" are oil-based.)
❄ Hookup with a humidifier! Central heating systems and space heaters, or anything that will blast hot dry air throughout our homes and offices may keep us warm, but it’s also a good way to dry yourself out. Humidifiers add more moisture to the air, which helps prevent your skin from drying out. Get a humidifier, or even a few small ones for your home; they help disperse the moisture more evenly and you can stay warm without the worry.
❄ Drink up buttercup! Did you know dehydration in winter is actually more common than in summer? And what goes hand in hand with dehydration? Very, very dry skin. Dry winter weather is pretty skilled at depleting our skin’s water content, resulting in a less supple appearance. So it’s extra important to make sure we’re getting in at least 2L a day! Add Naked Grace to your water bottle for a delicious natural taste that will make dehydrated skin will be a worry of the past. Even better? The infusions include micronutrients that are super beneficial for out skin, like vitamin C and plenty of antioxidants! With these in your arsenal, you’ll have dehydration bending the knee in no time.
